This small structure was build for the Refuge Response at Ohio City Farm in 2020 using biocycler. (www.biocycler.org) Biocycler uses fungi to recycle and remediate construction and demolition waste. The outer shell of the structure was made by laminating reclaimed lumber for demolished buildings and the interior insulation was made by growing fungal mycelium on the saw dust created in its construction.

C&D waste was reclaimed milled and crosslaminated to make the mycohouse shell. Small debris was “biocycled” into insulation panels with images embedded of inspirational refugees as this project is for the Refugee Response.
